OUR PHILOSOPHY: All of us at Hotel Furniture Center acknowledge and embrace the belief that global long-term economic security, shared prosperity, and the hope for peaceful co-existence among all nations and peoples, is based on the
preservation and equitable sharing of the environment and this earthly home
we all inhabit. We believe in applying the principles of reduce, reuse and recycle in all processes
OUR GOALS: We are fully committed to understanding and implementing the
changes required to convert raw materials, processes, and systems within our
business, to those, which completely support and protect our earthly
environment and the legacy we temporarily hold for our children who will
inherit it.
STEPS TAKEN SO FAR:
Materials: Wood Free! We are on a continual mission to search out all new
sustainable materials and products in order to produce beautiful, long
lasting, eco-friendly furniture, free from the use of regular lumber
Wood: The lumber we do use is only FSC or SFI certified
Glue: We use a Formaldehyde Free Glue
Finishing: We use either water base finishing material to paint our products or a very Low V.O.C. finishing material and recycle all of
our waste. In addition, we keep accurate up-to-date records on all the materials we use for AQMC (Air Quality Management)
Foam: We are currently evaluating several substitutes to conventional foam
which will produce the same, if not better quality results in our products. We are now checking the Preserve from Hickory Spring verses Reflex from Foamex.
Packing: We are converting to eco-friendly recyclable materials for all
our packing and shipping

· Monitor and evaluate our practices as they relate to these environmental principles.
· Minimize the generation of waste through source reduction, re-use and recycling programs.
· Conserve energy and improve the energy efficiency of our operations and make every effort to use and promote environmentally safe, cost-effective and sustainable energy sources.
· Ensure the health and safety of our employees by promoting safe work practices, reducing exposure, using safe technologies, and implementing effective emergency preparedness programs.
· Provide employees with safety and environmental information through training and education programs in order for them to make work/practice decisions in support of these principles.
· Incorporate green principles into design, construction, and operational strategies to minimize the environmental impact throughout the total facility life-cycle
· Protect the environment through a preference for products which contain recycled materials, are recyclable or reusable, and cause the least amount of environmental harm during manufacturing, use and disposal.
· Seek new and innovative ways to meet its environmental goals through conservation, reduction, reuse and recycling programs and through partnering with others in the community to safeguard the environment. Apply these principles to achieve optimal environmental practices consistent with clinical excellence, organizational goals and financial considerations. Our commitment to environmental awareness and preservation is reflected throughout our business.
